Radio Compatibility at SOMMER
SOMMER uses different radio systems for garage door operators, gate operators, industrial door operators and radio receivers. Compatibility depends not only on the radio frequency, but also on the radio technology and protocol used.
Current SOMMER transmitters with SOMloq2 support the radio frequencies 868.95 MHz and 868.8 MHz. This allows many current transmitters to be used with both new SOMloq2 systems and compatible older SOMMER radio receivers and operators.
Older transmitters with Somloq Rollingcode (868.8 MHz) use an earlier radio technology. Compatibility with newer operators and receivers depends on the specific product and should always be verified using the model designation.
Before purchasing a new transmitter or radio receiver, always check which radio system is used by the existing operator or receiver.

Not always. Older transmitters with Somloq Rollingcode do not automatically support the functions and features of current SOMloq2 systems. Whether an older transmitter can be used depends on the specific operator or receiver model. Compatibility should therefore always be checked in advance.
No. The Classic 4020V000 transmitter uses the older Somloq Rollingcode radio system (868.8 MHz) and is not compatible with the SOMMER base+. A compatible SOMloq2 transmitter is required for the SOMMER base+.
No. The frequency alone does not determine compatibility. The radio system, radio technology and communication protocol used are the key factors. As a result, two devices may be incompatible even if they operate on similar frequencies. Compatibility should always be verified based on the specific transmitter, receiver and operator models.
The identification is usually located on the back of the transmitter or inside the battery compartment.

- TX55-868 = SOMloq2
Using this identification, you can quickly determine which radio system your transmitter uses.
TX03-868 identifies a transmitter that uses the older Somloq Rollingcode radio system. These transmitters are designed for the earlier generation of SOMMER radio technology.
TX55-868 identifies a transmitter equipped with the current SOMloq2 radio system. SOMloq2 offers additional features such as modern encryption, status feedback and compatibility with many current SOMMER operators and receivers.
Whether a SOMMER transmitter is compatible does not depend on the radio frequency alone. The decisive factors are the radio system, radio technology and compatibility between the transmitter, receiver and operator.
