Disposal & Recycling

Recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Packaging

The European WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) aims to prevent waste from electrical and electronic equipment and to reduce such waste through reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery. The directive and the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) apply to all types of electrically operated equipment.

SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik GmbH is registered with the German Foundation for Waste Electrical Equipment Register (EAR) under WEEE registration number DE 55071946.

How to Identify Equipment Covered by the ElektroG

In addition to the manufacturer's information, B2C electrical and electronic equipment must bear the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. This symbol indicates that electrical equipment must not be disposed of with household waste.

Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

  1. Donate your old device to a charitable organization if it is still in good condition.
  2. Dispose of defective devices at a collection point operated by local public waste management authorities.
  3. Regardless of whether you purchase a new device from SOMMER, you may return up to three waste electrical devices with a maximum edge length of 25 cm at our site.
  4. When purchasing a comparable large device, you may send waste electrical equipment with a maximum edge length exceeding 50 cm to SOMMER for proper disposal. Please complete the appropriate contact form.

Disposal of Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries

Remove used batteries and rechargeable batteries from the device and dispose of them properly in accordance with local regulations.

Deletion of Personal Data

Before returning any waste electrical equipment, ensure that all personal data has been deleted.

Packaging Recycling

The German Packaging Act (VerpackG) aims to minimize the environmental impact of packaging waste in Germany. It implements Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste and seeks to increase recycling rates.

SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik GmbH is registered as a producer in the German LUCID Packaging Register under registration number DE3071349943826.

Please do not dispose of packaging waste with household waste. Instead, use the designated separate collection systems available in your area, such as recycling bins and collection points. Packaging materials may also be returned at our site.
