On September 25, 2026, SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik AG celebrated a very special milestone: 20 years of SOMMER in Switzerland. Two decades of growth, strong relationships, exciting projects, and continuous development lie behind us. This anniversary is not only a reason to celebrate, but also an opportunity to look back on our journey and thank everyone who has been part of it.
The Beginning in 2006
The story of our Swiss subsidiary officially began on June 1, 2006, in Gwatt. Under the leadership of the then Branch Manager Marco Leimgruber, the foundation for a successful future was laid. From the very beginning, the team pursued the goal of providing customers throughout Switzerland with high-quality automation and radio technology solutions, combined with dedicated local support.
What started as a small location gradually developed into an important part of the SOMMER Group. Customer proximity, technical expertise, and strong partnerships have always been at the heart of our success.
Growth and New Milestones
As customer demand and market requirements grew, so did our Swiss subsidiary. In 2012, we relocated to Sursee, creating better conditions for future growth and development.
Another important milestone followed in 2016, when Silvio Bärtschi took over as Branch Manager. Together with his team, he continued the successful path of the company and further strengthened SOMMER's position in the Swiss market.
Ten years after moving to Sursee, the next major change took place. In 2022, the subsidiary moved to its current location in Däniken. As at previous sites, the new facility combines offices, a showroom, and a warehouse under one roof, providing the ideal conditions to serve customers and partners efficiently and professionally.
More Than Just a Location
Over the past 20 years, the Swiss subsidiary has grown into much more than a sales office. Today, numerous customers, specialist dealers, installers, and partners rely on the products and services of SOMMER Switzerland.
This success is above all the result of the commitment and dedication of the people who have shaped the subsidiary over the years. Whether long-standing employees, business partners, or customers, every collaboration has contributed to making SOMMER Switzerland what it is today.
