SOMMER receives the "Innovation through Research" seal of quality
In 2016 and 2022/2023, door operator specialist SOMMER was awarded the "Innovation through Research" seal of quality from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany). The seal of quality goes to companies who stand out due special achievements in research and development (R&D).
Decision on gate operators puts an end to legal uncertainty
SOMMER operators ensure safe, standard-compliant and certified interplay between operator and gate or door. According to two current court decisions, manufacturers of door and gate operators must assure that operators and doors and gates can be reliably operated together. This makes SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik GmbH feel vindicated in its product strategy. The company has fulfilled the requirements of both decisions, which result from relevant EN 12453, since the introduction of this standard in 2001.
base+ door operator
The new base+ door operator from SOMMER adapts to any garage door. A force curve ensures door operation is optimised throughout an automatic learning process. Convenience and security are expanded with additional features such as a humidity sensor or a module for safely locking the garage door. For its operator technology, SOMMER uses a low-wear and low-maintenance motor which runs on a track. The remote control is operated via bidirectional radio control system technology with feedback.
SOMMER acquires Doco International B.V.
SOMMER Antriebs- und Funktechnik GmbH is growing again. As of October 1, the group has acquired a new member: Doco International B.V. . The manufacturer is one of the leading suppliers in Europe of door components for industrial and private doors and is represented in more than 40 countries around the world.
