New: Telecody Courier

Never miss a parcel again
Our new Telecody Courier turns your garage into a smart package depot with ease. In combination with a SOMMER base+, SOMMER pro+ and the RDC Vision+ roller door control unit, the Telecody Courier can give the delivery person limited access to the garage to stow the package there securely.
The Telecody Courier is installed on the outer facade of the garage and then provides two access options:
- Via a two to eight-digit code that can be changed at any time
- Via the red button on the Telecody Courier
In addition to the individual access options, a custom opening height can also be set. This is defined for an opening duration of 3 and 9 seconds. Using an additional photocell, an opening height of over 30 cm can also be achieved.
As the Telecody Courier has the same range of functions as the Telecody+, with the exception of the parcel function, the owner of the garage can also store his completely separate access code on the Telecody Courier to open the garage.
New: twist 350 rapido

Our new twist 350 rapido swing gate operator combines two things: All the advantages of the "twist 350" series, plus up to 30 % higher feed speed. In other words, our new swing gate operator is perfect for all customers who like their gates to open and close particularly quickly. Our patented braking system, optimal application of force even in soft run and the tried-and-tested SOMloq2 radio control system ensure high operational reliability.
The twist 350 rapido can be mounted universally with a right or left stop and used in 1-wing or 2-wing operation. And it can move gates with a wing width of up to 3 m or a gate weight of 300 kg.

We congratulate our former trainees Marie, Nina, Lukas and Xhem on passing their degrees. Our training manager Biggi Hanne and managing director Dieter Walddörfer are happy that the four of them are staying in the SOMMER team and wish them all the best for the future.
Postponed: R+T trade fair
30.07.2020 - R+T 2021 postponed by one year
Messe Stuttgart has postponed the next R+T, the world's leading trade show for roller shutters, doors/gates and sun protection, to 21 to 25 February 2022.
We look forward to 2022 and hope to welcome you at our booth in Stuttgart.
Explanation of Short-Term Operation
27.03.2020 - Simplified representation of why rest period and short-time work were chosen as measures for these periods
Simply put: Reaction to the sales limitations due to the coronavirus
Sales activities:
Corona and social isolation reduced activities (reduction of appointments and visits). Sales now only take place via reduced channels (e.g. online), but significantly reduced overall. Is like this more or less in all industries. (Craft, industry, automotive do not develop in parallel ways)
Incoming orders:
Due to lower sales activities, incoming orders also decrease. Partially compensated by warehouse orders and safety stocks. Time delayed development compared to the reduction in sales activities.
Orders on hand:
The order on hand (existing orders in system and production) are processed after the reduction in order intake, so it is the last to develop downwards.
Why our choice for the measures and periods?
The company rest period was chosen for the period in which we suspect all activities are at their lowest level. After the rest period, we want to comeback fully and serve the sales activities that have already started again. The mixture of rest and return to normal operation is short-time work. This is our idea of the market situation. We try to transport our idea to you as good as possible. You don‘t have to worry about the SOMMER Group. We are assuming a positive restart.

Light + Building to be held in September 2020
In view of the increasing spread of the coronavirus in Europe and after intensive consultations, Messe Frankfurt has decided to postpone Light + Building. The world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology will take place from 27. September to 2. October 2020 at the Frankfurt exhibition center.

Roller door control unit
Roller door control units
RDC Vision and RDC 800 will be discontinued as of 31.03.2019 and can be supplied as long as stocks last. The successor model, the RDC Vision+, features numerous innovations and will be available from the second quarter of 2019.
Barrier systems
The ASB-5014A, ASB-5507A, ASB-6010A and ASB-6010 barrier
will be discontinued as of 31.12.2018 and can be supplied as long as stocks last. The new generation of barrier arms, equipped with our bidirectional SOMloq2 radio system, will be available from the first quarter of 2019.

Further development of the base+ ceiling control unit

In pursuit of our goal of constantly improving our products, the design of the base+ ceiling control unit has been further optimised.
The upper housing section is now fixed in place with two snap-in hooks and one screw, which is firmly attached to the housing and therefore cannot be lost. This makes overhead installation much easier.
